Evidence Before Recommendation

Why We Find the Leak First

Brisbane summers push every car's air conditioning to its limit. With summer highs around 29°C and humidity above 65%, every AC system works hard. One that's already low on refrigerant struggles even more.

Add in an ageing fleet. Most vehicles on Queensland roads are now over ten years old, and hoses, O-rings and seals harden and shrink. Condensers take stone damage too, another common leak point on Queensland roads. That's exactly where slow refrigerant leaks start.

Car AC leak detection in Brisbane exists to answer one question: where is the refrigerant actually going. We use UV dye, trace gas and nitrogen pressure testing to find the exact point. We don't just top the system up and hope it lasts.

Too many drivers tell us the same thing. A regas worked for a few weeks, then the same warm air came back. A regas can't fix a leak, and it can't tell you where the fault actually is. We've heard the frustration of paying for a regas twice. Finding the leak first means the fix is permanent, not temporary.

We come to you across Brisbane, from Coopers Plains and the southside suburbs out to Ipswich and Logan Village. Whether it's a car, a work ute or a fleet vehicle, the same test-first approach applies to every job

Sound Familiar?

The Same Leak Complaints, Every Week

If any of this sounds like your car, you’re not alone, and it’s exactly what our leak detection finds.

Needs Regassing Every Single Year

“It's cold for a bit, then it needs regassing again. Same time, every year.”

They Just Topped It Up, No Leak Check

They just topped it up again. Didn't even look for where it was coming from.”

Warm Air Came Back Within Months

“It worked for about three months, then the warm air was back.”

No Idea Where It's Actually Leaking

“I don't know where it's coming from, it just goes flat over time.”

Not Keen to Pay for Another Regas That Doesn't Fix It

“I don't want to pay for another regas that doesn't actually fix anything.”

Test First, Then Fix

A Real Answer for Where the Gas Is Going

Every car AC leak detection visit starts with testing, not a top-up. We use UV dye, trace gas and nitrogen pressure testing to find the exact point the refrigerant is escaping. Once we know where it's leaking, the repair actually holds.

Find the Real Reason It Keeps Going Flat

Pressure testing and UV dye show us exactly where refrigerant is escaping, not just that it's low.

A Fix That Actually Lasts

Once the leak is found and repaired, the system holds its charge instead of going flat again in a few months.

Pay for the Repair, Not Another Regas

You know what's actually broken before you pay for anything.

We Test Before We Touch the Refrigerant

No top-up until we know what's actually wrong, so you're not paying for gas that leaks straight back out.

Pinpoint the Exact Leak, Not a Guess

UV dye, trace gas and nitrogen pressure testing between them find leaks a visual check alone would miss.

How We Find It

What Happens During a Car AC Leak Detection Visit

Car AC leak detection is one of five service categories covered in a single mobile callout. It's part of our auto air-conditioning service. It often follows on from our Auto AC Diagnostics visit, when pressure testing points to a leak. It also stands alone if you already know your AC is losing gas

UV Dye Leak Detection

A fluorescent dye travels with the refrigerant and glows under UV light at the exact leak point.

Tracer Gas Leak Detection

A safe tracer gas finds leaks an electronic sniffer or UV dye alone might miss.

Nitrogen Pressure Testing

Pressurising the system with nitrogen shows whether it's holding, without using refrigerant to test.

Ultrasonic & Electronic Leak Detection

Sensors pick up the sound and trace of escaping refrigerant, even from hard-to-see spots.

UV Borescope Inspection

A borescope confirms an evaporator leak behind the dash, without pulling it apart to guess.

How It Works

1

Tell us what’s happening (frequent regassing, warm air returning, or a system that’s gone flat).

2

We come to you across Brisbane, in our fully stocked mobile workshop.

3

We pressure test the system with nitrogen to check whether it’s holding.

4

We add UV dye or tracer gas and check every likely leak point, hoses, fittings, compressor seals and the condenser.

5

We confirm the exact leak location, using a borescope if it’s behind the dash.

6

You get a clear quote for the repair, based on what we actually found.

Local considerations: Brisbane's heat means AC systems run hard most of the year. Road debris is a common cause of condenser damage, one of the most frequent leaks we find. We test vehicles across Coopers Plains and the surrounding southside suburbs, out to Ipswich and Logan Village. Same conditions your car deals with every day.

If we repair the leak, that work is backed by our workmanship guarantee, so a callback for something we’ve done isn’t an extra cost.

Common Questions

Car AC Leak Detection FAQ

Will a regas alone find the leak?
+

A regas alone won’t show you where the leak is, it just adds refrigerant back in. We pressure test, then use UV dye or trace gas to actually locate it.

Can you find a really small or slow leak?
+

Yes, slow leaks are exactly what trace gas and nitrogen pressure testing are built for. UV dye works well too, but needs a bit of time to circulate and show up.

Do I need to leave my car with you overnight?
+

A single visit is usually enough to find the leak. If a very slow leak needs more time for the dye or gas to circulate, we’ll let you know before we finish up.

What happens after you find the leak?
+

We’ll explain exactly what’s leaking and give you a clear quote before any repair goes ahead. Most leaks, hoses, O-rings and fittings, we can fix on the same visit.

Is UV dye safe for my car’s AC system?
+

Yes, UV dye is designed to travel with the refrigerant and oil without affecting how the system runs. It’s one of the most common leak detection methods used across the industry.
